Gates resigns from Microsoft over philanthropy

Today, Microsoft was founded in 1954 by Bill Gates and his friend Paul Allen, 44 years ago. Paul Allen is no longer present, and Gates announced Friday that he has resigned from the board.

Gates worked for Microsoft for more than 20 years, and in 2000 he transferred the position of CEO to Steve Ballmer. After that, he became the CEO of Software Architect, gradually reducing his duties and standing as one of the Board’s Advisors. Now he has resigned from the board.

Gates says he wants to quit philanthropy. Gates also resigned from his board of friend Berkshire Hathaway Company, Warren Buffett.

Gates founded the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which will become the world’s largest foundation since 2000, and has partnered with the company. Now he has decided to turn his philanthropic career and quit his corporate job.
